Candace Parker Dunks! Who gives a lick?
Tennessee Volunteer Candace Parker dunked the other day against Army in the NCAA Tournament. I don't know if ESPN just needed some time to kill on SportsCenter, but I must have saw this highlight at least 148 times. It's not that big of a deal. I mean, she's 6'4! Nate Robinson throwin' it down was impressive, because he's 5'7, but a 6'4 woman dunking just doesn't make my jaw drop. For one thing, she barely even dunked it. She pretty much laid it in and then grabbed the rim. If she were to have done a 360 two-hand throw down, I'd give her some praise, but what she did isn't even classified as 'dunking' in men's basketball. And if it was, Jason Kidd would be the greatest dunker to ever live.They also brought up the question if this was going to bring in more fans. The answer is no. We see players dunking it every game in men's basketball, so what makes them think we care if the women start to do it? Even if they did, it would bring up the question if they were hookin' up with the baseball players swapping needles.

Glad you agree with what I said on my blog. Who really cares? She barely got to the rim. I'm not impressed when someone 6'4 dunks.
Go away Candace Parker dunk highlights please!! If Tenn wins the women's tournament they'll show this forever.
What really pissed me off is how she stuck her tongue out all the way back down the court.
Well I Disagree with the both of you BOYS.It is a big deal because not many women can dunk, even at 6'6. So I think both of you need to get off her back because she's the best player in the NCAA,and she always will be.I would also LOVE to see you two dunk, and your men. So stop critisizing and and get over yourselves!
She is also a big role model for many young women and children. Let her do what she wants, because she looks awsome at what she at what she does.

get off her back, its a big deal because most women dont dunk. I watch womens college basketball now just to watch her play. The talent she has is incredible. She is changing the way the womens game is played. Shes a beast on the defensive end turning away everything that comes near her, has a wicked spin, ball handling skills like none other her height in the womens game, and a nack to finish with the basketball. I think this is just two guys who are mad because they know a woman would make them look like shit out there. CP is going to be the greatest womens basketball player ever to play the game
Wow some people have been taking their estrogen! The question is not whether the dunk is important, it is why so much publicity? I do not call her impact on youth to judgment, but this dunk is hardly worth praise. Women need to realize, if they want as many people to watch the women's game, they must drawn attention the same way the men do. The sheer power of dunking on someone can change momentum. A layup with over 5 mins. left, however, can not. So Candace enjoy your time at Tennessee because once the draft comes, no one will hear from you until you dunk on Lisa Leslie or Diana Taurasi (Yet another big name, college fizzle).
