Well, everyone's nightmare has come true.

Last night on Jay Leno Terry was on promoting his new movie, Failure to Launch. Which brings up an interesting point, why in the hell is Terry Bradshaw doing a movie? The guy doesn't need the money, and he can't even act. Anyways, Terry was constantly moving around and laughing hysterically. Every time Leno told a joke Terry would laugh uncontrollably, then ask where he got it from, and then try and give him a high-five. Terry also said, "Man I'm sweatin!" at least 68 times. He looked like a total goof.

This all leads me to believe that Terry is on the white powder. Why else would the legend quarterback walk around nude in a movie? Crack will do these kinds of things to you, so watch out kids!

This is pretty much just speculation. I would not encourage anyone to spread this rumor around.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Well I don't, I've still got 5 months until mine. But anyways, I'm going to be breaking down the sweet 16 match-ups and give you my never-put-money-on-these predictions.

#1. Duke
#4. LSU
------------> I like LSU in this one. I think LSU matches up very well with the Dukies (as Glen Davis likes to call them). More than likely, J.J. Redick will be guarded by a very physical and athletic Garrett Temple. Temple will be on Redick like stink on poop. Also, the match-up down low is going to be a good one. Shelden Williams and Glen 'Big Baby' Davis is going to be a hoot to watch.

#2. UCLA
#3. Gonzaga
-------------> UCLA. Adam Morrison and Gonzaga's run will end here. UCLA is too talented for Gonzaga and I just don't think the Bulldogs will be able to hang with the Bruins for 40 minutes.

#1. UCONN
#5. Washington
-----------------> UCONN. Rudy Gay

#7. Wichita State
#11. George Mason
---------------------> This is a tough one. I really like both of these teams. George Mason has had a more impressive road to the sweet 16, but Wichita State did beat 2-seeded Tennessee. I'm going to go with George Mason.

#2. Texas
#6. W. Virginia
----------------> Texas. Texas will be able to shut down the Mountaineers 3-point attack.

#1. Memphis
#13. Bradley
--------------> Bradley. Memphis is a very good team, but I just don't see Bradley going down after already beating both Kansas and Pitt.

#1. Villanova
#4. Boston College
-------------------> Boston College. Villanova is too small to hang with the Golden Eagles. I had BC in the Final Four before the Tournament started so I'm going to stick with that pick.

#3. Florida
#7. Georgetown
----------------> Florida. I really like Georgetown. It seems like they've pulled it out for me when I've wanted them too. For instance, that Duke game back in January. Joakim Noah will be too much for the Hoyas down low.

Should be a great finish to what has been an outstanding tournament!

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Yes, the Stanford Cardinal's mascot is a tree. Why not a cardinal you ask? I have no idea.

But back to the point. The 'tree' was ejected for dancing where he was not supposed to be. Why in the hell do you eject the mascot? I 'd understand if he ran across the middle of the court and stole the ball, but for dancing? I just don't get it.

This isn't the first time the 'tree' has been in trouble. It was recently ejected for a DUI, dancing under the influence. What the hell is the matter with the Stanford Tree? I can just imagine the FSU Seminole coming to the game drunk trying to ride that horse to mid-field in pre-game.

Hey 'tree' you've got to get your act together man. Maybe try laying off the crunk juice, and dancing on the court probably isn't the best idea.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

I don't know if ESPN just needed some time to kill on SportsCenter, but I must have saw this highlight at least 148 times. It's not that big of a deal. I mean, she's 6'4! Nate Robinson throwin' it down was impressive, because he's 5'7, but a 6'4 woman dunking just doesn't make my jaw drop. For one thing, she barely even dunked it. She pretty much laid it in and then grabbed the rim. If she were to have done a 360 two-hand throw down, I'd give her some praise, but what she did isn't even classified as 'dunking' in men's basketball. And if it was, Jason Kidd would be the greatest dunker to ever live.

They also brought up the question if this was going to bring in more fans. The answer is no. We see players dunking it every game in men's basketball, so what makes them think we care if the women start to do it? Even if they did, it would bring up the question if they were hookin' up with the baseball players swapping needles.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

The Bradley Braves from the Missouri Valley Conference defeated my predicted National Champion Kansas Jayhawks tonight. What do I have to say about that? Pretty much nothing, it's actually pretty sad on Kansas' part. This is the second straight year in which Kansas lost in the first round, last year the Jayhawks lost to Bucknell. I would really love to know how many people's bracket around the world just went down the can, cause I know mine just did.

Upset City Saturday: #7 Wichita State over #2 Tennessee

Also, Northwestern State defeated Iowa at the buzzer, and George Mason beat Michigan State. They don't call it March Madness for nothing.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

I know everyone has been patiently waiting for my picks. CLICK HERE TO VIEW MY BRACKETS....

I really like Kansas. They are a big physical team who has only lost one game in the last two months. I really believe that they could win it all, it's going to be a difficult task, but I think they could do it. Besides, every other bracket I have seen has either, Duke, UConn, or Villanova winning it all, so why not be different? GO JAYHAWKS!

My sleeper: LSU Tigers
I really like Glen 'Big Baby' Davis and Tyrus Thomas. These are two big guys who could give Duke a lot of problems down low. Also add in shooters Darrel Mitchell and Tasmin Mitchell and LSU could make a big run.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Drew Brees shocked everyone (or at least me) by signing with the New Orleans 'Aints and Daunte Culpepper is unpacking the swim suit in Miami.

Brees signed a 6 year contract with the Saints, and Culpepper was traded to the Miami Dolphins in return for a 2-round draft pick.

Supposedly, Culpepper will be ready to play by September, which is great news for Dolphins fans. If Culpepper is ready to go at the begninning of the 2006 season, you can say bye-bye to the dominance of the New England Patriots in the AFC East. However, if the Dolphins are without Culpepper for the beginning of the 2006 season you can pretty much count them out for the playoffs.

After all of this, how does it affect the NFL Draft? Well, it looks as if the Saints are getting a 1 for 2 deal. The Saints now have the quarterback who can help them NOW, and they will also be able to improve their defense with DE Mario Williams in this year's draft. Also, Matt Leinart will be reunited with his buddy from USC, Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow (now with the Titans). This leaves the New York Jets (4th pick) with Vince Young. WOW, this is going to be a fun draft.

In other news: The Eagles have released WR Terrell Owens.
The Dallas Cowboys have released WR Keyshawn Johnson

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Since early January some very loyal LSU fans have been raising money to put a billboard up by USC's campus in Los Angeles. Why would they want to do this? To show that USC wasn't going for a threepeat this year like everyone believed.

Ahh I love it! I think it is time to show those pretty California boys what's up. I would love to see USC play in a conference like the SEC, and play teams such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc. week in and week out. If you were to put one of the SEC's mediocre teams in the Pac-10, such as South Carolina, they would go undefeated as well. The Pac-10 is a joke and everyone knows it.

Wooo... Daunte Culpepper wants out of Minnesota, the Chargers don't seem too interested in signing Drew Brees, and the Raiders have officially released Kerry Collins.

As of right now, it is looking like Culpepper is headed to Oakland to be reunited with his buddy Randy Moss. What really scares me about this move is that Culpepper won't be ready to hit the field until mid-season of 2006. Taking Culpepper right now is a huge risk, but if he returns and plays like his old self, it will definitely be worth it.

The rumor is that the Miami Dolphins are the leading candidate for Drew Brees. This makes perfect sense. Miami Coach Nick Saban is known for getting what he wants, and he wants a quarterback who can lead his team to the playoffs.

There has also been some speculation that the New Orleans Saints are interested in Drew Brees. The Saints going after Brees makes no sense. For one, they haven't even cut Aaron Brooks yet, and two, they have been planning on drafting Leinart all along. I have got some news for you New Orleans, your team needs more than just a quarterback.

According to The Hater Nation, the Oakland Raiders have released QB Kerry Collins. It is also being reported that the Baltimore Ravens are interested in Collins, and with a starting quarterback like Kyle Boller, I'd be interested in him too.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

I bet they regret their comments now. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not sure I know anyone on the Syracuse team other than McNamara. Canada jumped all over both Willis and Al Leiter, who came in after Willis hit the 65-pitch count. In the end, the U.S. fell to Canada 8-6.

This is totally unacceptable. The U.S. should not be losing to a subpar Canadian team, hell, they shouldn't lose period. I'll always remember that '91 World Series against the Braves. In Game 6 you hit a game-winning home run to force a game 7, in which the Twins ended up winning. Probably scoring leader Adam Morrison, but does a great team ever enter your head? I would hope not.

Gonzaga has only played five ranked teams this season. The last time Gonzaga actually played a quality opponent dates all the way back to December, in which they lost by 11 to then-ranked #3 Memphis. Just yesterday, Gonzaga went into Overtime with a tough San Diego team. Give me a break.

There is just no way Gonzaga goes far in the NCAA Tourney. If a team locks up on Morrison, which isn't an easy task, Gonzaga will lose early. However, you can't take away the fact that they are 26-3, but are they good enough to beat a UConn or a Duke? The answer is no. They just haven't been tested enough to be a top team in my opinion. If they were to have this record and be in a top conference like the Big East or the ACC then it would be impressive. But, beating teams such as San Francisco and Eastern Washington is definitely not a jaw dropper.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Roy Williams has done a magnificent job this season, probably his best yet. The Tarheels played FOUR, I repeat four, Freshmen in last nights victory over the Blue Devils. I'm sorry, but Roy Williams deserves the Coach of the Year, no doubt about it. For him to have such a great season after losing every starter from last year's National Championship game is amazing. It's actually almost impossible. After a slow start to the season the Tarheels have battled back to be the hottest team in College Basketball. With the way this team has been playing as of late, I would not be surprised to see them in the Final Four again.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

With just under 10 seconds left in overtime, Charlotte's Leemire Goldwire was called for a unnecessary technical foul on George Washington's Mike Hall. Goldwire threw two elbows at Mike Hall in the face right after GW missed the tying shot. Hall was also called for a foul, but not a technical. So, Charlotte's De'Angelo Alexander goes to the line and hits 1 of 2. Then comes Hall, who made both free throws. Since it was a technical foul, George Washington got the ball back. GW's Noel Wilmore goes down the court and shoots a 3-point air ball, but Carl Elliot was in the right place at the right time. Elliot caught the ball in mid air, shot, and made it at the buzzer.

Which brings me to my point. Why would you commit a stupid technical foul when your team just rebounded GW's missed shot with time running out in OT? That's just stupid. You've got to understand that it's more important that you get the 'W'. Sure he wanted to look like a bad boy and not take any crap from anybody, but hey, your team is 5 seconds away from winning! Take the cheap shots and walk away with the win, isn't that the point? Goldwire, I do not know what you were thinking, but you've got to be more mature than that.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Steve plans to stay just one more season in Nashville, then become a free agent in 2007. This moves means that the Titans would not have to pay $50 million and extend his contract through 2009, something Tennessee was not interested in doing.

Now, what does this mean for their soon-to-be QB Vince Young. Assuming they do draft Young, does this mean he sits for a year? The answer is possibly. I do not think the Titans would have resigned McNair unless they were planning on playing him. The biggest coming from the Broncos, who released RB Mike Anderson, DE Trevor Pryce, and TE Jeb Putzier. Other notables include, the Dolphins releasing Sam Madison, the Panthers deciding to let go of veteran running back Stephen Davis, and the Bills releasing Safety Lawyer Milloy. Also, the Titans released long-time Tackle Brad Hopkins.

There are also three HUGE running backs heading to Free Agency. NFL MVP Shaun Alexander, Colts running back Edgerrin James, and Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis. The top two teams in the running for these running backs include the Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings. Both of these teams are in bad need of a running back. The Vikings top two running backs accumulated only 1,135 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2005.

Shaun Alexander will be back in Seattle next season, there's no doubt in my mind about that. Edgerrin James seems like a good fit in Minnesota, and Jamal Lewis is leaning toward the Carolina Panthers; who also are in need of a running back.

Also, San Diego Chargers QB Drew Brees is a free agent. There is speculation that Brees will become a Dolphin, which makes perfect sense to me.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

Why did Barry do this? It was supposedly a rookie spook, and he spooked us all right. I'm sorry, but this just doesn't look like a guy who is on the edge of retirement. He is having too much fun out there to do that.

Barry has recently been taking a lot of heat from fans about his "steroid use". I am one of those fans who believed that Barry was on the juice, but you still can't take away what this guy has done. He is the most dominant hitter in the league, and most feared. Bonds is just 6 home runs away of beating Babe Ruth's record of 714; and just 47 off of Hank Aaron's record. All of us who have bashed Bonds, I think it's time to drop it. We need to stop blaming and start appreciating the history we are witnessing. This is a one in a lifetime player on our hands, so we better treasure it.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

He's selfish. That's why we don't miss him," Williams said, responding to a Thomas interview.

Supposedly, Thomas didn't appreciate the way his career with the White Sox ended. Frank said that chairman Jerry Reinsdork never broke the news that he wasn't going to be returning as a White Sox in 2006.

Thomas has recently said that he respects Jerry Reinsdork, but that Reinsdork didn't appreciate him and treated Thomas like a "passing player".

I agree that not being straight forward with Frank Thomas is a mistake. Thomas is the best Chicago White Sox ever, and for them to not treat him like he deserves is wrong. HOWEVER, from the statements made by General Manager Williams it seems that Thomas wasn't necessarily a great teammate; as you can see in this quote by White Sox GM Kenny Williams, "We don't miss him, by the way. If you go out there and ask any one of my players or staff members, we don't miss him. We don't miss his attitude. We don't miss the whining. We don't miss it. Good riddance. What KG didn't see is that his ball would hit a grown man square in the face. Like I said before, this was a lightly thrown ball, lighter than your 90 year old Grandma in the nursing home. The guy then continued to act as if he had been shot. He called an usher over to his seat and then he was CARTED off of the court. Kevin was then ejected from the game, because anytime the ball is thrown into the stands by a player it is an automatic ejection.

The NBA really needs to look at this rule. If a player throws the ball in the stands from total frustration he needs to be ejected, but if the player tosses the ball under the goal and it accidentally hits a fan, maybe give him a technical, but don't eject him from the game. Kevin didn't do anything wrong, and I hope the fan recognizes that.

For those who didn't see this acting job, you can see it here.
LINK TO HIGHLIGHT

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

All incoming NFL players take a 50-question version of the Wonderlic, with a 12-minute window within which to finish it. Here are 15 example questions from the Wonderlic IQ Test, LINK.

Scoring a 6 is extremely pathetic. How is this guy supposed to break down NFL defenses when he's pretty much an idiot? Sorry Vince, but your stock may have just dropped a little.

UPDATE:
Reportedly Vince Young was given the opportunity to retake the Wonderlic Test and this time scored a 16. This is still a below average score and will probably take the test yet again. My question is why is Vince allowed to do this? Not everyone is able to take this elementary level test multiple times, so why is he allowed to? Vince, I don't know what they taught you at Texas, but obviously not very much.

E-mail Jeff: jeffhathorn@gmail.com

What keeps Craig going on for nineteen seasons is his desire and love for the game. Craig has not only been the face of the Houston Astros organization, he's also one of the best players to every play the game. When Biggio replaced Catcher Alan Ashby no one knew that the young 22 year old kid would soon grow into a legend. Craig is just 205 hits shy of becoming the 27th member of the 3,000 hits club, and also a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame.

Craig, if you're healthy you just play as long as you can. There are millions of people who would love to be in your shoes right now. If you feel like you can still play the game, then why give it up? Ricky is currently appealing the case, which could take up to six weeks. If Williams is convicted he will face a one-year suspension from the NFL. Sure everyone knows that Reggie Bush will go first to the Texans, Leinart second, and Vince Young third, but not everyone knows about the rest of the field. Here's my list of the top players entering the NFL.

1. Reggie Bush, RB, USC
2. Matt Leinart, QB, USC
TIE 3. Vince Young, QB, Texas
TIE 3. Does it get any better than this? USC, who has won 34 straight games, is looking to win back to back National Championships (LSU won in '03). Texas is looking to repeat as Rose Bowl Champions, where they beat Michigan 38-37 in 2005. After a couple of weeks of watching ESPN show USC's greatness, we finally get to see the game be played. Texas hasn't been talked about at all these last few days. That alone will drive these Longhorns to victory. Why do I say that? Texas has Vince Young, the most versatile QB in the country, and a DEFENSE in which USC doesn't have. Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart will have big games, but Texas' defense will make the stops when needed.

Prediction: 38-35 Texas

Florida State has a dominant defense, but a sputtering offense. Penn State, however, has had a surprising season. Everyone doubted Joe Pa's return, even I did, but he has turned this team around. Despite a last second loss to Michigan, Penn State has rolled this season. They average giving up only 16 points a game.

Here's an interesting stat: In all 4 games in which a team has driven the field and scored on FSU, they've lost. They're going to need to keep their head in this game and play four complete quarters of football to beat the Nitanny Lions.

Prediction: 20-17 FSU

Throughout the game there were numerous bad calls, as well as no-calls. There was an obvious forward pass called a fumble, and a huge no-call on pass interference; both in crucial times of the game. I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. Usually people don't want refs controlling the outcome of a game, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't step in when needed. Also, what's the point of replay if you're not going to use it? Michigan Head Coach Lloyd Carr had to use 2 time outs in the second half to get a replay up in the booth. If we're going to be using replay in NCAA Football, why not let it lay in the coaches' hands? Let them choose when they want a play to be reviewed. I feel terrible for Michigan and Carr, and I feel like he has every right to complain to the NCAA about the refs in that game.

Since I will be out of town I decided to go ahead and post predictions of the Bowl Games between those dates.

Champs Sports Bowl:
Clemson vs. Colorado
I don't see how Clemson could possibly get up for this game since the Buffs from CU were just totally embarressed 70-7 by Texas back on Dec. 3. Even with that said, Clemson's talent leads them past Colorado.
Prediction: 30-17 Clemson

Insight Bowl:
Rutgers vs. Arizona State
Rutgers wins off of pure excitement. It's been a while since the Scarlet Knights have been in a bowl game.
Prediction: 38-30 Rutgers

MPC Computers Bowl:
Boston College vs. Boise State
Prediction: 41-28 Boston College

Alamo Bowl:
Michigan vs. Nebraska
Pretty much just two great names playing in this game. Nebraska has been mediocre and Michigan hasn't done much either.
Prediction: 24-7 Michigan

Emerald Bowl:
Georgia Tech vs. Utah
Poor Yellow Jackets have to play Utah after such a good season. Georgia Tech's 'D' will totally dominate this game. I'm takin the Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech.
Prediction: 20-3 Georgia Tech

Holiday Bowl:
Oregon vs. Oklahoma
UPSET ALERT! Oregon won't be pumped up for this game after being left out of the BCS.
Prediction: 31-30 Oklahoma

Music City Bowl:
Minnesota vs. Virginia
Prediction: 13-9 Minnesota

Sun Bowl:
UCLA vs. Northwestern
Northwestern wins and shows how weak the Pac-10 is.
Prediction: 38-24 Northwestern

Independence Bowl:
Missouri vs. South Carolina
South Carolina wins this one. USC is one of the hottest teams in the SEC right now.
Prediction: 28-13 South Carolina

Peach Bowl:
LSU vs. Miami
The best Non BCS match-up. Two inept offenses agaisnt two great defenses.
Prediction: 17-14 LSU

Before his game tonight, DeAngelo had 1,726 yards (173 per game) and 15 TD. You may want to add to those stats, against Akron in the Motor City Bowl Williams rushed for 243 yards and 3 TD. I really believe that DeAngelo is first round talent. If he gets picked any later, it will definitely be the steal of the draft.

Favre, who has led his Packers to a 3-12 record, has been anything but spectacular. What really gets me is that the Packers haven't even tried to help out their future hall of fame Quarterback. Green Bay selected a QB in last years draft instead of trying to improve their team. The Packers drafting Favre's replacement tells me that they don't have much faith in Brett. The Packers have also been devastated by injuries. Three, I repeat, three starting Running Backs for the Packers have been injured, all for the rest of the year. Which brings me to my point. Although Brett has had a horrible season, I still believe Brett has a few more years left in him. Especially if the Packers can sign some Free Agents to help them out, and stay healthy. Brett will be back in 2006 and will lead his Packers back to glory.

Brett's Stats for '05
351-570 for 3,522 yards 19 TD and 28 INT

The media has built this thing up as if God and the Devil are playing today. What has really sparked this reunion is Kobe's 62 point performance a couple of nights ago. If you ask me, scoring 62 points tells me one thing... your team isn't very good. On the other hand, Shaq concentrates more on a 'team effort'. He is constantly making the people around him better. Hey Kobe, this just in, your the only player the Lakers got. You better get used to scoring 60 plus a game because if you don't, the Lakers will be sitting at home come June.
